Xiamen Ring Road — the five-colour coast

Five colours running side by side for 30.8 kilometres — blue sea, golden sand, green grass, a red track and grey road. Locals just call it the five-colour road.

A 30.8-kilometre coastal road that locals call the 'five-colour road': blue sea, golden sand, green grass, a red running track and grey asphalt, running side by side the whole way. It links Yanwu Bridge, Baicheng Beach, Hulishan Fort, Zengcuoan and Huangcuo Beach, and doubles as the course of the Xiamen Marathon.

It is a road you join anywhere rather than a site you enter: there is no gate, no ticket and no single start point, so pick any access point near your hotel. The red track is for runners and walkers, not vehicles.
