Sanxingdui Museum

A bronze face 138 cm from ear to ear, with eyes that push out of their sockets on stalks. It was cast about 3,200 years ago — and China's vast written record says nothing at all about the people who made it.

A 4,000-year-old Ancient-Shu civilisation site (bronzes, jade, gold masks), with a new hall opened 2023 and growing digital resources.

Sanxingdui is fully independent of Central-Plains civilisation — its masks/bronze trees have no written history, an archaeological mystery that is a genuine differentiator.
